How to host a clothing drive

A clothing drive is the rare project that's easy, inclusive, and genuinely impactful — everyone has a closet to clean out. This toolkit gives you the whole playbook, and Abq Reclaimed removes the hardest part: at the end, we collect everything from your door at no cost. Grab what you need below.

What's in the kit

Step 1 — Plan it (the 3-week timeline)

• 3 weeks out Pick your drive dates and a collection spot (a classroom, foyer, lobby, or office corner). Set a goal — the impact calculator turns "how many people" into a pounds target to rally around.
• 2 weeks out Announce it. Send the email blurb, post the flyer, and schedule a couple of social posts (templates below).
• 1 week out Remind everyone. Put up the flyer where people gather and send a "starts Monday!" nudge.
• Drive week Collect bags of clothing, shoes, and linens — any condition. Keep them dry.
• Last day Request your free pickup (or call/text (505) 250-3804) and we haul the entire haul away. Celebrate the total!

Step 4 — We pick it all up, free

When your drive wraps, don't stress about hauling. Tell us the date and spot and we'll collect the entire collection from your door at no charge, anywhere in the Albuquerque metro. We accept everything in any condition, so the whole haul gets a second life — wearable items reused, worn-out textiles recycled.
