How free clothing pickup works

What to expect, step by step

I built Abq Reclaimed to be the easiest way in Albuquerque to clear out things you no longer use. Here's exactly what happens after you hit submit.

1. You request a pickup online

Head to the pickup request form and tell me your name, a phone number, your pickup address, and the day that works best. A photo or two helps me say yes fast. If you have a rough idea of how much you're setting out — a couple of bags or a whole garage — let me know so I can plan the route. There's never a charge, and requesting a pickup doesn't lock you into anything.

2. I reply and confirm what I can take

I read every request myself and get back to you to confirm what I can take and arrange a day. Pickup is by approval and scheduled around my routes, so it isn't instant — but I'll always tell you straight what I can do and when I can get there, instead of leaving you guessing. 3. You set it out

Use whatever you have on hand — kitchen bags, grocery bags, cardboard boxes, an old suitcase. Tie or fold the tops closed so nothing blows away or gets wet. On pickup day, set everything in a spot that's easy to see: the front porch, next to the garage, or wherever you noted. Gated community or apartment? Just add the gate code or building details in the form.

4. I pick it up — contactless and free

You don't need to be home. I collect everything from where you left it, and that's it. Wearable clothing and resale-worthy goods get rehomed or resold; the rest is routed to recycling where I can, to keep it out of the landfill. One bag or ten, the pickup is always free. 5. I tell you where it went

This is the part no thrift store offers. A few days after I pick up, I send you a Reclaim Receipt — a short personal note naming where your things ended up and how many pounds you kept out of the Albuquerque landfill, with a running lifetime total. No tax form nobody reads; the truth about where your stuff went instead.

How soon will I come?

There's no fixed turnaround — pickup is by approval and scheduled around my routes, so timing depends on where you are and how my week lines up. I read every request myself and reply to arrange a day that works. On a tight timeline — moving out, staging a home, clearing an estate? Tell me and I'll do my best to fit you in. Prefer not to wait on a route? You can drop off by appointment — just text me.

Is there a limit on how much I can give?

No. Whether it's a single grocery bag or a garage full of boxes after a big purge, I'll take it. If you have an unusually large amount, just note it in the form so I bring the right vehicle.
