Before you ask — the honest limits. Abq Reclaimed is just me, and I run a few community projects at once. So free pickups are limited and entirely at my discretion — I can't take everything, and some weeks I can't do pickups at all. Send a photo and I'll tell you honestly whether I can fit it in; if I can't, I'll point you elsewhere. (Prefer to drop off? We can sometimes arrange that by appointment.) When I do collect, a few days later I send you a Reclaim Receipt telling you where your stuff went.

Electronics are the thing I most want. I find the value in whatever is resale-worthy and recycle the rest myself — it is genuinely easy and free for me — so almost nothing has to hit the landfill. "Working or not" is how I actually operate. I have been a top-rated eBay reseller since 2003 (99.7% positive across 1,650+ ratings), so I know what an old laptop, console, lens, or synth is really worth — good gear gets resold and lived again instead of crushed. When a device is truly dead, I strip the parts that have value and recycle the rest. I have done the same with far bigger machines, including pulling the copper and electronic components out of a several-thousand-pound heat exchanger and shipping parts as far as the UK.

The one thing I pass on
- Giant CRT/console TVs — too heavy for one person to handle safely. Those carry disposal fees at most recyclers anyway, and the City of Albuquerque runs periodic free e-waste events; I will point you to a local option for those.

Drop-off is the surest way — pickup is by request
For small stuff, dropping it off is the fastest, most certain route, and you are welcome to. Pickup is the part I have to ration: it is just me, so a free pickup is limited and at my discretion. A photo lets me say yes fast. For a small-business clear-out — a stack of office computers, monitors, networking gear, or a server rack — that is where my cleanout and forklift handling genuinely help, by arrangement.
Where your stuff actually goes. Unlike a shred-only recycler, I reuse first and recycle second — so a working device gets a second life instead of being crushed for materials. Wipe your own data first if a device still powers on; once it is with me, anything not resold gets recycled, not landfilled, and the Reclaim Receipt I send tells you where it ended up.

Will you take a TV?

Is an electronics pickup tax-deductible?
No. I am a one-person, for-profit reuse operation, not a charity, so pickups are not tax-deductible. Instead of a tax receipt you get a Reclaim Receipt — a note telling you exactly where your electronics ended up and what was kept out of the landfill.
